Data-Driven Forecasting Analyst – Graduate position
Starting salary £28K (reviewed at six months)
Inpharmation is a research-based company. We specialise in finding novel evidence-based methods that allow major pharma companies to make accurate commercial predictions (such as forecasting and pricing). We achieve this both by applying the latest academic research and by conducting original research ourselves. We are looking for a very bright and committed individual to help with our R&D efforts.
This would be an excellent career move for someone newly or recently out of university who wants to gain data analytics and product development skills.
In your first eighteen months, you will…
- Become familiar with the main techniques used for pricing and forecasting pharmaceuticals.
- Learn the principles of data analytics.
- Help to develop new pricing and forecasting techniques. This will include: literature reviews, data analysis, and stress-tests and quality checks on new functionalities.
- Work with our programmers to implement new techniques.
- Communicate new techniques to the rest of the company.
- Support our strategic insights and analytics department as they deploy new techniques in projects.
In your second eighteen months, we expect you will…
- Take responsibility for managing individual stages in the development of new techniques.
- Develop expertise in more than one technique and help other departments in the company to implement them.
By the time you have been with us three years, we expect you will…
- Have been promoted to senior analyst, with a strong reputation for delivering quality work on time.
- Manage the full lifecycle of developing new techniques, including: running research, creating functionalities, working with programming to implement these functionalities, communicating the techniques to the rest of the company, and helping to implement them in projects.
- Be an expert in various techniques and support other departments of the company implementing them.
By the time you have been with us five years, we expect you will…
- Have wide autonomy in researching and developing new techniques.
- Manage analysts to assist you in this process.
- Be an expert in several techniques and assist other departments of the company using these to win and run projects effectively.

- A starting salary of £28,000 (increasing to £31,000 on successful completion of a six‑month probationary period).

Is this you?
- A graduate with a first or 2:1 from a top-twenty university, in a subject involving maths (e.g. economics, maths, statistics, physics, data science, actuarial science, engineering, finance).
- Highly numerate.
- You have an interest in how things work and enjoy focussing on topics in depth (for example: reading non-fiction books, searching for data, creating spreadsheet models, etc.).
- Computer literate, with knowledge of Excel and spreadsheet modelling.
- Highly self-motivated and able to take an idea and run with it.
- Excellent grades at A level, including maths. Science and/or numeric subjects preferred.
- Able to work from our offices in Stokenchurch, HP14 3FE, Buckinghamshire.
